ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the effects of periodontal tissue regeneration combined with orthodontics on periodontitis.Methods:Eighty-six patients with periodontitis who received treatment in the Yongkang First People's Hospital, China between January 2017 and December 2018 were included in this study. They were randomly assigned to receive either periodontal tissue regeneration (control group, n = 43) or periodontal tissue regeneration combined with orthodontics (observation group, n = 43). Periodontal function, clinical efficacy, complications and patient satisfaction were compared between the control and study groups. Results:Before treatment, there were no significant differences in plaque index, gingival bleeding index, probing depth, bleeding on probing and attachment loss between the control and study groups (all P > 0.05). After treatment, plaque index, gingival bleeding index, probing depth, bleeding on probing and attachment loss in the observation group were (0.85 ± 0.27) points, (0.64 ± 0.25) points, (2.25 ± 0.24) mm, (34.30 ± 0.48)% and (3.70 ± 0.55) mm, respectively, and they were (1.36 ± 0.30) points, (1.24 ± 0.53) points, (3.49 ± 0.38) mm, (57.88 ± 0.75) %, and (4.61 ± 0.92) mm, respectively. There were significant differences in these indexes between the observation and control groups ( t = 8.286, 6.714, 18.092, 173.648, 5.567, all P < 0.05). Total effective rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group [95.35% (41/43) vs. 79.07% (34/41), χ2 = 5.108, P < 0.05). Total effective rate in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group [2.33% (1/43) vs. 16.28% (7/43), χ2 = 4.962, P < 0.05]. Patient satisfaction in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group [(91.17 ± 3.52) points vs. (84.43 ± 2.50) points, t = 10.237, P < 0.05]. Conclusion:Periodontal tissue regeneration combined with orthodontics on periodontitis for treatment of periodontitis is highly safe and effective. It can promote the recovery of oral function and increase patient satisfaction.

ABSTRACT

Infant hemangioma, the most common benign tumor in children, is characterized by rapid proliferation, followed by slower spontaneous involution. However, some patients with facial segmental hemangioma are associated with PHACE syndrome. PHACE syndrome is characterized by vascular nerve and vascular cutaneous lesions of multiple systemic systems, often resulting in structural and functional impairments. Recent studies have demonstrated that the possible pathogeneses of PHACE syndrome mainly include hypoxia, abnormality of mesodermal vascular endothelial cells, genetic abnormality, and abnormality of interstitial mesenchymal stem cells. The current medications for hemangioma with PHACE syndrome include beta blockers, glucocorticoids, and mTOR inhibitors. This review article mainly describes the pathogenesis, diagnoses and treatments of PHACE syndrome, in order to provide directions for diagnosis and treatment of this disorder.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>This study aims to assess the effects of desensitizing toothpaste containing stannous fluoride on dentine hypersensitivity by performing Meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCT) involving the treatment of dentine hypersensitivity with stannous fluoride-containing toothpaste.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>The study was developed based on the Cochrane handbook for systematic reviews of interventions (Version 5.1.0) and included the following: search strategy, selection criteria, data extraction, and risk of bias assessment. We searched electronic databases such as CNKI, CBM, PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library up to January 2015. RCT of treating dentine hypersensitivity with stannous fluoride-containing toothpaste were included. Data extraction and domain-based risk of bias assessment were independently performed by two reviewers. Meta-analysis was performed with RevMan 5.3 software.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Six RCT with 494 patients (247 in the experimental group and 247 in the control group) were included. The results of Meta-analysis showed that the desensitizing effect of stannous fluoride-containing toothpaste was significantly better than that of control in tactile sensitivity test (SMD=1.41, 95% confidence interval 0.74-2.09, P<0.00001) and air blast test (SMD = -1.16, 95% confidence interval -1.84--0.48, P<0.000 01).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Current evidence shows that stannous fluoride-containing toothpaste is effective in treating dentine hypersensitivity in clinic. However, due to limited sample size and lower quality of the included studies, more high quality and large-sample RCT are needed to further verify the evidence.</p>

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To develop a UPLC method for the simultaneous determination of liquiritin, narirutin, hesperidin, ammonium glycyrrhetate, honokiol and magnolol in Huoxiang Zhengqi oral liquid.</p><p><b>METHOD</b>A Zorbax Eclipse C18 column was used with the mobile phase of acetonitrile and 0. 05% phosphate acid by gradient elution at the detection wavelength of 220 nm. The flow rate was 0.42 mL x min(-1) and the column temperature was 30 degrees C.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>The calibration curves were linear in the ranges of 0.001 7-0.034, 0.003 4-0.068, 0.006 4-0.128, 0.012 8-0.256, 0.003 2-0.064, 0.006 4-0.128 microg, respectively. The average recoveries were 103.3%, 98.39%, 98.29%, 102.1%, 98.45%, 102.2% with RSDs of 2.1%,1.0%, 0.50%, 2.3%, 0.9%, 2.0%, respectively.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The UPLC method was simple, rapid and accurate, it could be used for quality control of Huoxiang Zhengqi oral liquid.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To observe the effect of glycoprotein receptor blockade tirofiban in acute anterior myocardial infarction patients without ST segment resolution after primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).</p><p><b>METHODS</b>From April 2006 to April 2008, 157 acute anterior myocardial infarction patients without ST segment resolution after PCI were randomly allocated to tirofiban (intravenous bolus 10 microg/kg followed by intravenous infusion of 0.15 microgxkg(-1)xmin(-1) for 48 h, n = 80) or equal volume saline (control group, n = 77). Baseline characteristics, PCI features and clinical outcomes during hospitalization, left ventricular ejection fractions (LVEF) and major adverse cardiac events (MACE, including death, re-infarction and target vessel revascularization) at 30 and 180 days after discharge were compared between the two groups.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The baseline clinical characteristics were comparable between the two groups. Compared to control group, the MACE rates and re-infarction rates at 30 days (6.3% vs.18.2%, P < 0.05; 1.3% vs.9.1%, P < 0.05, respectively) and 180 days (10.0% vs.23.4%, P < 0.05; 2.5% vs.10.4%, P < 0.05, respectively) were significantly reduced in tirofiban group. LVEF value was significantly higher in tirofiban group at 30 days and 180 days compared with those in control group [(51 +/- 6)% vs. (46 +/- 8)%, P < 0.05; (57 +/- 7)% vs. (50 +/- 9)%, P < 0.05]. Hemorrhagic complications were similar between the two groups.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Use of tirofiban for acute anterior myocardial infarction patients without ST segment resolution after PCI is safe and can significantly improve 30 and 180 days clinical outcomes after discharge.</p>
